Jammu & Kashmir UT Development Council

J&K has ideal agro-climatic conditions for horticulture and floriculture together an enormous assortment of flora and fauna. Besides, the cost of setting up operations is comparatively lower than other states/UTs. The GSDP grew at a CAGR of 10.51 per cent, during 2011-12 to 2018-19 to reach Rs 1.57 trillion (US$ 24.42 billion). The UT also offers significant potential in hydro power sector. Considering the strong potential in the UT, ASSOCHAM formed a J&K UT Council to identify opportunities and implement strategies aimed at holistic growth & development of J&K. Main objective is to build a strong and diverse council for J&K towards revamping the economy by covering all the thrust sectors for overall sustainable growth and development of the UT.
