ASSOCHAM National Council on Quality and Productivity, works closely with the government, both at the central as well as state levels, for promoting innovation - led productivity and establishing a robust quality ecosystem in the country. The council is providing handholding services to implement the national strategy for standardization (INSS) underlines the role of a harmonized, dynamic and mature standards framework in establishing a robust quality ecosystem in the country, and the need to position standards as a key driver of all economic activities relating to goods and services. The objective of the council is to stimulate and promote productivity and quality consciousness among industry.

The Council will intend to create a compendium of quality-related sectoral recommendations that will aid industrial competitiveness, leading to greater demand for Indian products and services thereby leading to export promotion and import substitution.
