ASSOCHAM Direct Tax Council has always worked closely with the Finance Ministry & played a proactive role in the development of India’s tax and trade policies. It works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the growth of industry in India, partnering industry and government alike through advisory and consultative processes & to bridge the gaps that exists between policymaking, policy interpretation, and policy application. The Council helps the businesses to gear up to understand the new tax world and factor it in their plans to create reasonable safety net to mitigate impact of uncertainties. The Council, through its research-based policy advocacy role, positively impacts the economic growth and development of the nation. The Council keeps interacting with key government officials from Ministry of Finance (including Revenue Secretary & CBDT team) to discuss the issues/concerns of its member industry. The Council also keeps its members updated with the various initiatives of the Finance Ministry by issuing a quarterly tax bulletin & also via organizing programs on regular intervals on the topical issues concerning the industry.
